“IRA” Reading Responses

Having students complete an “Insight, Response and Application” (or IRA) response upon completing a reading assignment challenges students to reflect on what they took away from the reading, connect what they learned to their own personal experiences and expand their understanding by seeking out further information to build upon what they learned and increase their overall understanding of the themes or topic.
