The International Student Experience Fund (ISEF)
The International Student Experience Fund (ISEF) was launched by the Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, International Student Experience in 2018-2019. The objective of the ISEF program is to foster a learning environment on U of T’s campuses that aligns with the University’s global mission and profile. The Fund is intended to support academic and non-academic initiatives that: enhance the experience of international students; foster intercultural and international-to-domestic student, staff and faculty engagement; and internationalize the University of Toronto student experience.
The Fund supports two streams of activities; Seed ($5,000-$15,000 per year) and Impact ($15,000-$100,000 per year). This two-tiered system is intended to provide opportunities for projects that explore, implement and scale up promising practices at different stages of their development and implementation, and create a pathway for projects from their initial inception to their full potential. Both tiers of grants are intended to be completed within 1 to 3 years. Proposals will be accepted from U of T faculty and staff with continuing appointments. The primary beneficiary of the proposal must be undergraduate or graduate students.
INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION FUND (ITIF)
The Provost’s Instructional Technology Innovation Fund (ITIF) is a seed fund designed to catalyze initiatives that immediately and directly impact University of Toronto education and teaching programs through innovation and development.

LEARNING AND EDUCATION ADVANCEMENT FUND
The focus of this program is to enrich the learning experience of undergraduate students in first-entry Divisions across the University and to provide academic units with a mechanism for developing and enhancing the research, assessment, and application of high-impact teaching practices within learning environments at the University.
The Fund is intended to support projects that will anticipate, leverage and create positive changes in both the modes and mechanisms of undergraduate education at the University of Toronto.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE EDUCATION VICE-DEAN’S EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT FUND
Funded by the Education Vice-Deans, the Education Development Fund is intended to support new and innovative projects that align with our Faculty’s strategic directions in education around the core values of innovation, integration and impact in education. The EDF is a seed fund designed to encourage those who are transitioning to, or are newly engaged in, educational scholarship to further their career development.

The ability to describe your goals and your project in relation to other initiatives at UofT and the broader landscape of instructional design and/or educational technology is critical to preparation of a successful proposal. Participation in faculty development events is also a good opportunity to meet potential collaborators, and learn about other project activities across our three campuses.
