A Continuum for Exploration
Note: The examples on the continuum are illustrative – there are many additional examples for instructors to explore that reflect both simpler and more complex active learning strategies.
The following examples are presented from simple to complex (the more complex activities require more time to plan and execute) and divided into individual (I) and collaborative (C) activities (some examples can fall under both categories). Also, the larger the class the longer the planning and implementation of strategies as complexity increases.
Small/Large Group Discussion (C)
Experiential/Community Engaged Learning (C)
Augmented/Virtual Reality (I/C)
